Fusions between the human ROS1 kinase and other cellular genes occur in ~2% of non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) patients. The ROS1 gene is most commonly fused with CD74 in NSCLC, with junction sites primarily occurring between exon 6 (e6) of CD74 and e32 or e34 of ROS1.
GeneTAG offers a Universal probe-based test for detecting CD74/ROS1 fusions, which contains 3 separate assays. Assays #1–3 detect WT ROS1, CD74-e6/ROS1-e32, and CD74-e6/ROS1-e34, respectively, with FAM fluorescence. Universal probes are made using generic probe and antiprobe sequences, allowing us to offer the test at a low cost. An example of results obtained with the Universal probe assay is shown below.
